All orders are keyed on day of receipt and merged with reprint
and new title dues the following morning. Urgent orders are dispatched
the same day for next day delivery (UK). Orders are received via

Credit Control/Cash Collection
CBS carry out all credit control functions on behalf of
the client. Sales Ledger receipts are paid into a special Client
Trustee A/c. For our largest clients CBS operates a "sole"
ledger with invoice stationery and monthly statements in their
own name.
Trade Debt Insurance
Publishers distributed by CBS may also join a 'Credit Insurance'
scheme which provides indemnity against bad debt / insolvency.
Participating publishers benefit from a low "group"
premium.
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
/ Teleordering
CBS has EDI links with all major book trade customers who require
electronic invoices, credit notes and order acknowledgements.
This EDI service is provided by First Edition. Orders can also
be received via Teleordering.
Management Reports
The 'report generator' produces an extensive range of management
reports. These can be tailored specifically to individual client
needs. Reports are sent electronically in a variety of popular
formats and can be shared easily amongst your sales and editorial
staff. Sales data can also be exported into your preferred accounts
package (eg. VAT reports for products such as calendars, CD's
& other non-book items). CBS will also email reports direct
to your appointed sales team.

Combined Book Services supplies books to customers all around

Home Delivery Service
CBS also offers a Home Delivery Service that can be used by any
purchaser requiring delivery to a private address. As with deliveries
to a business address, the customer information is captured in
our database for future marketing purposes.
Review Copies & Catalogue
Mailings
CBS can handle all your press releases, rep samples and catalogue
mailings. Simply provide a review list with the appropriate address
labels and we will send them out on our priority service.
Returns Processing
All returns are handled according to the publisher's own stated
policy. Therefore, each publisher can take their own decision
on unauthorised or damaged returns.
